If you're longing for real-deal 'brown sound' but also want to keep things flexible, then the Wampler Pinnacle is a more than solid choice. This distortion stompbox gives you two different gain structures to flip between, where the Vintage setting has a classic rock feel and the Modern setting packs the bite needed to slice through the mix like a knife through butter.

In addition to the Modern/Vintage switch, the Pinnacle is kitted out with a Boost/Gain switch, allowing you to switch between modest overdrive and more extreme distortion as needed. Meanwhile, the specifics can be tweaked in minute detail with the tone, volume, gain and mid contour pot.
